Throughout the history of OmniTI, we've contributed to hundreds of Open Source projects, working with a wide variety of tools and systems to help move the internet forward. It is with this mindset that we are launching a new open source project to help improve the state of cloud systems management, bringing some of the best technologies together to help make these infrastructure deployments easier and more stable to manage.
As a Systems Developer, you'll primarily work with this team to help integrate operating system components with a set of purposefully designed management services. Your day-to-day will involve heavy doses of C and Go, working within a wide mix of different technologists, helping to create this new ecosystem.
Skills & Requirements
- Experience developing in C
- Working knowledge of common network protocols: DNS, DHCP, HTTP, etc
- Familiar with automated build tools and continuous delivery
- Expert knowledge of operating system components and subsystems such as networking, memory management, filesystems, etc
- Go development experience
- Knowledge of Linux kernel internals
- Experience developing Open Source code, in public (send us the links)
- You have the heart of a teacher
- You've likely worked with a variety of languages in your career
- You love monitoring and trending, and like to bake that into your software
- Confident enough in the work you do to give a Sys Admin your cell phone number
- Experience with one or more scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Ruby
- Ability to play nicely with others and work independently
