the position

Our Anoka, MN location is seeking an Applications Administrator to add to our team. This location has a rich history in the community and has been operating since 1922. The Applications Administrator is responsible for ensuring daily operational readiness for Dynamics AX. You will become a vital expert on the solution in order to respond to inquiries, incidents and or take preventive actions to avoid critical downtimes. You will be Sporting’s key technical point person working closely with the application vendor and implementation vendor. This position will work closely with our Information Delivery Architect, DBA, developers and other key business stakeholders as necessary to ensure this application is meeting or exceeding business expectations. This position works within a matrixed organization so effective communications are necessary to be successful.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish, coordinate and maintain solution/systems documentation. Work closely with other IT SME’s to ensure content is correct.
  • Review and apply needed Microsoft Dynamics AX hotfixes and patches as well as Windows Operating systems patches
  • Coordinate and execute the refresh of Dynamics AX Development, Test and Production environments.
  • Troubleshoot Dynamics AX technical and environment issues.
  • Work directly with the Development and Functional teams to maintain multiple Dynamics AX application environments.
  • Act as a liaison between business users and IT Support for issues related to Dynamics AX.
  • Conduct assessments to assure that security, and risks are identified and mitigated. Comply with all regulatory initiatives, e.g. Sarbanes-Oxley and audit findings.
  • Work directly with the DBA team for solution performance monitoring and application tuning.
  • Interface with vendors and Microsoft for installation and technical support as needed.
  • Collaborate with other IT personnel to expand Dynamics AX knowledge within ATK and increase knowledge of supporting IT infrastructure and procedures.
  • Provide extended off-hour support when required.

Skills & Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Four year degree, preferably in business, computer science, or information technology.
  • 2-3 years experience in a help desk/support setting
  • Prior application/ERP administration experience.
  • Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 administration experience and/or Dynamics AX certification preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX, Dynamics NAV, Dynamics GP or Dynamics SL preferred
  • Exposure with Microsoft SQL 2008 R2 and SQL 2012.
  • Exposure with Microsoft SSIS, SSRS, SSAS technologies and architectures.
  • Microsoft Windows Server environment support/administration in a remote setting
  • Working knowledge of Citrix.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint.
  • Working knowledge of VMWare/Virtual environments
  • Retain alignment with IT strategies and project priorities to help assist team members and or vendors/consultants.
  • Ability to maintain focused priorities in a fast paced work environment
