Job Description

We are looking for enthusiastic junior-to-mid level software developers with an interest in artificial intelligence and how to apply it to solve challenging real-world problems. You will use a variety of technologies, such as natural language processing, machine learning, probabilistic reasoning, data fusion, planning and optimization, and cognitive modeling. You will work in small project-oriented groups of scientists and software engineers to design and build working prototypes of intelligent decision-support tools.

Skills & Requirements

Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
    • Proven proficiency in a high level programming language (Java and/or Scala preferable) and a solid background in designing, programming, and documenting complex software systems
    • Familiarity with the Linux command-line including file transfer utilities, and shell scripting
    • Experience developing artificial intelligence algorithms
    • Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn new programming languages through proficiency in additional languages (Python, Perl, Prolog, Scala)
    • Candidates should have demonstrated capability to work independently as well as effectively within a team environment.
    • This is a research and development position. Candidates must be interested in thinking, problem solving, and learning. They must be able to generate and communicate new ideas and be able to constructively critique the ideas of others.
    • Ability to work on multiple projects, switching easily from task to task and learning new concepts as necessary
    • Willingness to travel
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.

Additional Skills


(Experience with any of these technologies will be considered a strong plus):

    • Familiarity with SOAP, REST and/or AMQP
    • A good understanding of the complexities of service-oriented architectures and the ability to design and analyze a system in that type of environment
    • The drive and desire to use open source software where possible but not afraid of implementing it on your own
    • Optimization algorithms (e.g., evolutionary algorithms, market-based optimization
    • Natural language processing
    • Semantic technology
    • Autonomous agents
    • Machine learning algorithms
    • Probabilistic modeling and reasoning (e.g., Bayesian networks)
    • User interface development
    • Cyber security
    • Computational economics or game theory
  • Concurrent/distributed application development, particularly with Scala
